Sander Van Thomme has a Master in Special Needs Education & Disability Studies. Currently, he is an academic assistant and doctoral student at the Department of Social Work & Social Pedagogy at Ghent University. His PhD project is on the pedagogical meaning of the child-friendly city and his main research interests are children and young people's citizenship, (local) youth policy and socialisation.
